adidas Originals Rod Laver x ACU

A division of the cutting edge CLOT brand, Shanghai’s ACU retailer redefined the sneaker retail experience in China, mixing tradition and technology with ease to set a store standard. Their take on the Laver is audacious and intelligent without compromising the evergreen wearable nature of the shoe. From Dusk ’till Dawn, with the words alternately placed on the heel patches of the left and right shoes respectively, the brown ponyskin on the upper is the most immediate touch, complimented by shades of grey in leather on the lacestay, tongue and toe. Amplifying the silhouette’s trademark material mix, the premium feel extends to the sockliner, a gold top eyelet, and brown ‘CLOT’ lettering on the heel tab, with this design finished with a matching brown outsole.

ObyO Launch Day

Sunday was the day of the launch of the ObyO collection.

There was a line outside as early as 7am in the morning.

The collection was very well received by the local peeps and most have good things to say about both the collection by Kazuki and J Scott.

Keep watching this space for the 2nd part of the collection which will hit the store shortly.

Affili Art Collection with John Maeda

The 10th of September 2009 marks the special media event for the launch of the Affili Art Collection between Reebok and John Maeda. The 2 special pairs for him and her were put on preview to all invited media partners.

John Maeda is world-renowned for his uncanny ability to bridge the jumbled world of art with the logical environment of mathematics. The artist, graphic designer, computer scientists, mathematician, and currently a professor at prestigious MIT Media Lab. Maeda continues to push the boundaries of both art and technology, creating works never thought possible from either realms.

So it was natural for Reebok to approach the celebrated pioneer for a very special collaboration.

New Balance Feral Creation

Having a 103 year history of crafting sport shoes, New Balance will be celebrating their 99x series this year. Firstly making its debut back in the early ’80s, the 99x series has gone through various updates over the years and has established itself as a premium running shoe for sneakers enthusiasts and runners alike.

To commemorate the iconic models of the 99x series, The “Feral Creation” will be a collaboration with Singaporean sneaker boutique Leftfoot as well as Mita Sneakers from Japan.

Japanese kings of loud hip hop style Swagger have marked their tenth anniversary by releasing their Terminator Hi Quickstrike looking like a crazy choc-mint dinosaur, they come in odd-coloured pairs and feature one heck of a tongue.

Air Force 1 (Nitro Microphone)

Celebrating ten years since dropping their debut album, Japanese hip-hop heavyweights and past Nike collaborators Nitro Microphone Underground mark their anniversary with a special commemorative Air Force 1 Hi Supreme. Featuring a faux 24K upper wrapped in heavy-duty black-on-black crackle, this is a shoe fit for hip-hop royalty. In keeping with the occasion, the right tongue is woven with the year ‘1999’ while the left reads ‘2009’. The laces are adorned with gold jewels and the lace-tips are crowned with gold screw-top caps, giving them extra weight.
